Nobel Peace Prize for Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay (of Indian origin)

 

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay, a person of Indian origin. She is a prominent South African jurist and international human rights activist who served as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014.

She was born in Durban, South Africa. Her grandfather hailed from Tamil Nadu.
