Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a one-month suspension. The disciplinary action follows his decision to leave the national team camp after a falling-out with the coach. He has also been fined 255 Euros. Ronaldo left the team camp without informing anyone, in protest against his exclusion from the Portugal squad for the match against Denmark last month.
This significant decision was taken by the disciplinary council. Earlier reports had suggested that Ronaldo could face a suspension ranging from one to six months; it has now been officially confirmed that the suspension will last for one month.
