US President Donald Trump has stated that the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran will be brought to an end soon—either through negotiations or via another military move. He made these remarks during an interview with the Right Side Broadcasting Network. Trump asserted that Iran would either reach an agreement or the US would bring the matter to a close through an "easy" path. He further explained that the reason actions against Iran have not yet been taken is his desire to handle the situation in a proper manner.

Trump also confirmed that he spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and that the issue of Iran was part of their discussion. According to a report by Axios, Trump advocated for giving diplomatic efforts a chance to succeed, whereas Netanyahu pushed for an immediate military strike against Iran. Meanwhile, while speaking at an election campaign rally in Iowa, Trump warned that if necessary, the US might have to deliver a severe blow to Iran.
